The reduction of FTE numbers in the East Metropolitan Police District is a result of the five Prosecuting FTE transferring from the East Metropolitan Police District to the Judicial Services portfolio.
Verified offences in the East Metropolitan District are below the five year average in all categories except for domestic assault and stealing.
(3) Western Australia Police advises that due to operational sensitivities, specific information relating to on duty staffing levels is not released. Resources are allocated at a District level and District Superintendents deploy those resources within their District to deliver the best possible policing service to the community.
Staffing levels will vary across the Metropolitan Region and Districts for a wide range of reasons, including additional support provided from other specialist units such as:
· Regional Operations Group
· Police Rail Unit
· Specialist Crime
· Traffic Enforcement Group
· Dog Squad and a range of other available resources.
