(5) A primary strategy has been to address the remuneration for all clinical staff. A detailed remuneration proposal has been prepared by the Department of Health. This will be reviewed in consultation with the Minister for Employment Protection with particular regard to implications arising from negotiations for the Public Service General Agreement.
Another strategy has been the use of Perth based staff to provide a temporary service to these locations where resources permit. This has enabled a temporary service to be provided at a number of the affected clinics.
There has also been an increase in the number of students undertaking the school dental therapy training course at Curtin University and the dentist training at the University of Western Australia. It is anticipated that this increase will assist in staffing these clinics.
