(a) WA is leading efforts to enhance continence services nationally. WA has raised the issue at the Australian Health Ministers’ Council and has secured agreement on the need for an integrated national approach to replace the present fragmented range of continence services. Following this, WA has convened a national working group which will report back to Health Ministers through the Australian Health Ministers’ Advisory Council (AHMAC). The Working Group will recommend a set of client centred principles for continence support that will enable the cost associated with incontinence to be significantly reduced.
