(1) In 2007/08 Fremantle Ports had 11 vessels scheduled and subject to further negotiations, indications are contractual arrangements will extend post July 2008 with a further 12 vessels planned in 2008/2009.
For planning purposes, the Bunbury Port Authority has scheduled 2 coal vessels for 2008-09 and 10 to 12 vessels for 2009-10.
(2) Fremantle Ports expects to handle 497, 000 tonnes of coal in 2007/08 and a further 500,000 tonnes in 2008/2009.
The Bunbury Port Authority is working towards handling 100,000 tonnes of coal in 2008-09 and 600,000 tonnes in 2009-10.
(3) At Fremantle Ports the coal will be exported through Fremantle Ports Kwinana Bulk Berth No.2 at its Kwinana Bulk Terminal Facility.
The Bunbury Port Authority is working towards exporting coal over Berth 8 during 2008-09 and 2009-10.
(4) The Department for Planning and Infrastructure, the Bunbury Port Authority and the Department of Industry and Resources, through the Coal Futures Group, are currently working on advancing coal exports through the Port of Bunbury.
(5) This commercial arrangement is not known to Fremantle Ports.
(6) This is a commercial matter between coal exporters and their rail operator and is not known to the Bunbury Port Authority.
(7) The Bunbury Port Authority has had discussions with coal importers and exporters about the business case for development of permanent capacity for exporting of coal.
