DHARMIC PTY LTD — INVOICE YIH 0625
I refer to question without notice 767 about Dharmic Pty Ltd and note that the minister has advised that the Department of Agriculture and Food undertook to fully cooperate with the major fraud squad in any investigation of the Dharmic false document allegations. (1) Did part of the department’s full cooperation include agreeing to a police request to refer the matter to them, thereby allowing an investigation to be conducted; and, if so, on what date did that occur? (2) If no to (1), does the department intend to refer the matter for investigation? (3) If no to (2), why not? (4) Will the minister direct the department to refer this matter to the police to allow thorough and complete investigation; and, if not, why not? Hon ROBYN McSWEENEY

I thank the member for some notice of the question. (1) No; another party referred the matter to the major fraud squad for investigation after the department had mentioned to that party authorities to which concerns raised might be referred. The department offered cooperation with that investigation. The major fraud squad asked whether the department wished to make a formal complaint rather than asking it to refer the matter to the major fraud squad. (2) No. (3) The matter has already been referred to the major fraud squad for investigation. (4) No; the matter has already been referred to the major fraud squad for investigation.
