DALGARUP JARRAH FOREST
451. Hon DIANE EVERS to the minister representing the
Minister for Forestry:
I acknowledge that the answer to my
question may have changed since it was first answered, because I have had some
wonderful news about the Dalgarup forest today.
I refer to the Dalgarup jarrah
forest west of Bridgetown.
(1) Will the minister please table
the most recent review or assessment for this table on —
(a) indigenous heritage;
(b) flora and fauna, including endangered species and
threatened and priority ecological communities; and
(c) old growth?
(2) If no to (1), why not?
(3) Given the forest was previously identified as high
conservation value by the Labor government in 2004 and proposed to be included in Dalgarup National Park,
will the minister direct the Forest Products Commission to cease logging
operations; and, if not, why not?
(4) If no to (3),
will the minister please table correspondence surrounding the excision of this
section of the forest from the proposed national park; and, if not, why not?
