BUDGET 2015–16 — ROYALTIES REVENUE
227. Mr B.S. WYATT to the Treasurer:
I refer to the mineral royalty rate
analysis tabled by the Minister for Mines and Petroleum today, and to his brief
ministerial statement, in which he said, ''I want to emphasise that
there will be no changes to royalty rates as part of this yearXXX ###XXXs
budget.'' I note also that in the statement of risks in the 2014–15 Economic and Fiscal Outlook ,
there is additional royalty income of $180 million in 2015–16, $187 million
in 2016–17, and $193 million in 2017–18 as a provision for the
outcomes of that review. How does the Treasurer intend to fill that $180 million
hole for the 2015–16 financial year—by debt, spending cuts or
tax increases?
