NIB STADIUM — ALLIA VENUE MANAGEMENT
201. Ms R. SAFFIOTI to the
Minister for Sport and Recreation:
I refer to the announcement today
that Allia Venue Management has terminated its agreement with VenuesWest for
the operation of nib Stadium.
(1) Can the
minister confirm that Allia received $1.9 million in December for loss of
earnings as a result of stage 1 of the nib redevelopment?
(2) Has Allia
requested further compensation for stage 2, otherwise known as the pitch
replacement; and, if so, how much?
(3) Is there a
requirement for the state to agree to value Allia's business upon
termination and for a payout to be made by the state government?

I thank the
member for her question.
(1)–(3)
Yes, I did announce this morning that Allia has chosen, under the heads of
agreement, to terminate its management of nib Stadium. In 2013–14, a
payment of $1.9 million was made to settle the claim, as the member mentioned.
Ms
R. Saffioti : For stage 1?
Mr
T.K. WALDRON : Yes, stage 1. A second claim for compensation arising from
the development for the pitch replacement is valued at $1 332 769. With the
termination of the agreement at nib Stadium, there is a residual value in the
balance of Allia's contract with the state, and I need to seek advice
before I disclose what that is. There is a residual value; it is part of the
heads of agreement.
