875. Hon STEPHEN DAWSON to the
parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Housing:
I refer to the monitoring of performance benchmarks
associated with the National Partnership Agreement on Remote Indigenous
Housing.
(1) Is the
minister aware of federal government moves to strengthen the assessment and
monitoring of the benchmark of 20 per cent local employment to be included as
part of the procurement requirement for new housing construction?
(2) If yes to (1), —
(a) how have the proposed changes
been conveyed to the minister;
(b) on what date were the proposed
changes conveyed to the minister; and
(c) what will the changes involve?
(3) Is the
minister satisfied that the current system is adequately fulfilling the
benchmark; and, if not, why not?

the agreement in 2008. The federal government has not formally communicated any
changes to the assessment or monitoring process to the Housing Authority.
(2) Not applicable.
(3) The
Housing Authority has consistently exceeded the 20 per cent requirement for the
past seven years.
