I refer to the State Government’s substantial financial contribution towards the construction of the proposed Currambine community centre. Could the minister please provide this House with a brief progress report on the nature and extent of Family and Children's Services’ consultation with representatives of the Currambine community? I thank the member for some notice of this question. The City of Joondalup is involved in the determination of a suitable site for this centre. The Government is committed to building the centre in conjunction with the City of Joondalup. The City of Joondalup has employed a consultant who will have ongoing discussions with Family and Children's Services, the community and the city. The City of Joondalup has been advised that funding of up to $500 000 will be made available once it identifies the most suitable place to build the centre.
