I refer to children aged 14 and under with sexually transmitted infections and ask — (1) How many children aged 14 and under have presented with sexually transmitted diseases since 1 January 2008? (2) Will the minister give a breakdown of how old the children were and what the infections were? (3) Will the minister also give a breakdown of the regions the infections came from? (1) During the period 1 January 2008 to 6 May 2008, there were 66 children—nine with dual infections—notified with sexually transmitted infections. Fifty-three of these children were Aboriginal, nine were non-Aboriginal and four had an unknown ethnicity. Thirteen were males and 53 were females. (2)-(3) The answer is in tabular form.
