(2) Is the Minister aware that the program is scheduled to proceed in the Pilbara, but at a reduced scale because of the absence of state government funding?
(3) What steps are being taken by the Royalties for Regions program to support leadership development initiatives in the Pilbara and in other regional communities?

(1) Yes. Leadership WA requested $1,064,890 (ex GST) from the Regional Development Councils 2011 Action Agenda fund for Regional Leadership programmes in the Pilbara and Mid-West regions.
(a) No
(b) The Funding Scheme was highly contestable, with a total of 240 applications for funding being received, with over $900,000,000 being sought in total. Leadership WA's application was not supported as a strategic regional priority at that time
(2) Yes
(3) The $2.3 million Royalties for Regions Governance and Leadership Development Program will support leadership training and support Aboriginal leaders and communities across the Pilbara and Kimberley.
