b) The Department initiated an Internet Safety Group that has worked across the three sectors with WACSSO and WA Police to raise awareness in schools and the community of the key internet safety messages. In partnership with the Australian Communications Media Authority primary schools statewide have been offered an activity for students called
Cybersmart Detectives
and materials have been distributed to all schools at no cost. A calendar of activities has been prepared for 2008.
c) Yes. The essential content teachers are expected to teach in relation to protective behaviour is explicit within the Health and Physical Education
Curriculum Framework Curriculum Guides
and the
K-10 Syllabus
scope and sequence statements.
