(a) is it still the case that the Reid Highway and Alexander Drive intersection is considered by the Department of Main Roads to be the worst intersection for vehicle crashes in Western Australia;
(b) is it also true that the intersection of Reid Highway and Mirrabooka Avenue is still listed as the 24th highest in terms of crashes, but much higher in terms of fatalities;
(c) if so, given numerous promises made by both the State and Commonwealth Governments since 2005, what funds have been provided in the 2008 State budget for the provision of grade separation at these two intersections; and
(d) during the recent Federal Election Campaign, the Hon Martin Ferguson, now a Minister in the Rudd Government pledged "No Strings Attached" funding for the Alexander Drive intersection grade separation under the "Auslink 2" funding for dangerous intersections, should Labor be elected. Given that Labor was elected what action have you taken to confirm this commitment, and when will this election promise be honoured?
