AIR
QUALITY — NATIONAL ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION MEASURE STANDARDS
776. Hon SAMANTHA ROWE to the
minister representing the Minister for Environment:
I refer to page 58 of the Environmental Protection Authority
2012–13 annual report in relation to particle concentrations and
maximum ozone concentrations exceeding the ambient air quality national
environment protection measure standard.
(1) On which
dates and at which locations did this occur, and what were the maximum
concentration levels reached?
(2) Have there
been any other occasions since 30 June 2013 on which such particle concentrations
and ozone have exceeded the ambient air quality NEPM standard; and, if so, on
which dates and at which locations did this occur?
(3) If yes to
(2), what were the maximum concentration levels of pollutants reached on each
of these occasions?
(4) Is the
Department of Environment Regulation required to notify the public when air
pollutant concentrations exceed the ambient air quality NEPM standard; and, if
not, why not?
