In relation to all agencies, departments and trading enterprises within the Attorney General’s portfolio of responsibilities that maintain a register of gifts and benefits offered to employees but not accepted, I ask: (a) how many gifts or benefits have been offered but not accepted since 1 January 2013; and (b) for each gift or benefit offered but not accepted since 1 January 2013: (i) what was the nature of the gift or benefit; (ii) what was the name of the individual or organisation that offered the gift or benefit; (iii) what was the relationship of the employee to the individual or organisation that offered the gift or benefit; and (iv) what was the estimated cost of the offered gift or benefit?

The
Gifts, Benefits and Other Rewards Policy
form part of the Department of the Attorney General's Fraud and Corruption Control Plan. The Policy provides that where a gift, benefit or other reward with a value in excess of $25 has been offered, the business area must ensure that the item is included on the Department's Gift Register and that utilisation should not occur prior to the approval of the delegated authority. Benefits include hospitality, access to training, events and functions.
Officers from the Department of the Attorney General were offered gifts or benefits but did not accept them between 1 January 2013 and 13 February 2014. Please see Tabled Paper No:
