I refer to the Small Business Development Corporation Annual Report 2013-14 , page 27 in relation to the Regional Buy Local Program pilot project, and I ask: (a) how much was spent on the pilot project; (b) what “buy local” promotions were undertaken; (c) were the objectives of the program “to build the capacity of local small businesses” met; and (d) has any money been allocated to continue the initiative, if yes: (i) how much; (ii) when will stage 2 commence; and (iii) what are the principal activities to be undertaken?

(a)The Small Business Development Corporation spent $385,762.05 was spent on the Regional Buy Local Program pilot project.
(b) The Regional Buy Local Initiative pilot project was promoted through existing third party service providers and key stakeholder networks in each of the Supertowns.
(c) Yes.
(d) Yes, money has been allocated to continue the Regional Buy Local Initiative.
(i) $520,000 has been allocated to the Small Business Development Corporation to continue the Regional Buy Local Initiative.
(ii)Stage 2 of the Regional Buy Local Initiative will commence in February 2015.
(iii)Principal activities to be undertaken under Stage 2 of the Regional Buy Local Initiative are the development of an online diagnostic tool, the development of a matched grant funding program and the development of a workshop series.
