I refer to the Subiaco Football Club’s
‘Learn Today… Lead Tomorrow’ and ‘Success through Sport’ programs, and I
ask: (a) is the Minister aware of these
successful programs; (b) is the Minister
aware that the previous funding for this program from the Criminal Property
Confiscation Scheme was exhausted in May 2014 and has not been
renewed; (c) can the Minister outline
what funding is being allocated to the Subiaco Football Club to ensure these
programs continue; (d) if no funding is
being allocated for the continuation of these programs, will the Minister for
Sport undertake to investigate the matter, liaise with his Cabinet colleagues,
and secure additional funding for the programs; and (e) if no to (d), why not?

(a) Yes
(b) Yes
(c - e) As per the written advice I provided to the Chief Executive Officer of the Subiaco Football Club on May 26, $425,000 is allocated to the West Australian Football Commission (WAFC) for the development of football in WA, including regional areas. This funding supports the delivery of inclusive and multicultural programs. Subiaco Football Club should work with the WAFC to address their funding requirement. There may be other funding available through the Department of Sport and Recreation that Subiaco Football Club are eligible for and they are encouraged to contact the department to discuss their options.
