GERALDTON POLICE — DEATH OF WILLIAM ROWE
Further to my question without notice 34, I ask — (1) Will the minister list all 000 calls made by the Rowe family on 25 December 2007 and the times at which they were received at the Geraldton Police Station for the period between 8.00 pm and 9.30 pm? (2) Will the minister list 000 calls received by all Geraldton emergency services on 25 December 2007 for the period between 8.00 pm and 9.30 pm? (3) Did every police car dispatched on 25 December 2007 between the period of 8.00 pm and 9.30 pm have two officers on board? Hon JON FORD

I thank the member for some notice of this question. The Minister for Police and Emergency Services has provided the following answer — (1) Based on the information available to the WA Police at this time, the only 000 call made by a member of the Rowe family requesting for police was made at about 9.00 pm. This call was connected to the Geraldton Police Station and answered within 15 to 20 seconds. (2) All other 000 calls received by the Geraldton Police Station from other callers unrelated to the Sunset Beach assaults were received by the Geraldton Police Station as follows—8.22 pm, 8.23 pm and 8.25 pm. (3) All eight rostered officers were dispatched in four police cars. The remaining two police officers were manning the police station.
