(1) There are a number of community organisations who provide social housing for people who cannot afford to rent private accommodation. In some cases these organisations will approach the Department of Housing and Works to be the lessor of accommodation and they will sub lease the property to a customer and provide intensive support to assist the customer address their various issues. The Department of Housing and Works has a Homeless Helpline in place, which has a directory of accommodation and services available to people seeking housing. Board assistance is also available through the Department.
