The McGowan Government made an Election commitment to develop the Art Gallery of WA rooftop as a regular cultural and commercial venue. AGWA received $7.5 million for the redevelopment and $2.5 million for the TomorrowFund to acquire contemporary art. The development proposal is dual purpose (cultural and commercial) and no decision has been made on what commercial functions may be included.
