Hon Simon O'Brien requests a detailed breakdown of the $32m, $21m, and $13m adjustments in road infrastructure funding for 2004-05, 2005-06, and 2006-07 respectively, including cash balances and accrual items. The Minister's answer refers to a tabled paper outlining the composition of these adjustments, clarifying they are non-cash entries not considered part of Main Roads' services for reporting.

I refer to ‘Adjustments in Road Infrastructure for State Development’ on page 697 of the 2006-07 State Budget, and ask -
Will the Minister provide a breakdown of the specific movements in cash balances and other accrual items (resources received free of charge, receivables, payables and superannuation), that have lead to adjustments of $32 million in 2004-05, $21 million in 2005-06, and a predicted $13 million in 2006-07?

The [see tabled paper no] attached summary outlines the composition of the total adjustment for each year and the individual allocation against each Service. The adjustments that follow the Change in Surplus for the Period are non cash entries that the Department of Treasury and Finance have accepted as not being part of the Services of Main Roads for reporting purposes.
