I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1)–(2) No;
the funding is from consolidated revenue. The government allocated the $3.3 million
to the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation to help tackle the
steep increase in state-significant proposals requiring assessment by the
Environmental Protection Authority. The funding will ensure that the Western Australian
economy continues to grow through timely and effective assessment of high
priority proposals such as Metronet, Main Roads projects, the Ocean Reef
marina, lithium mines and processing plants, oil and gas proposals, irrigated
agriculture and large-scale mining proposals.
