I ask the minister to provide the following information - (1) How many speech pathologists are currently employed at Princess Margaret Hospital for Children? (2) Since 2001, how many speech pathologists have left Princess Margaret Hospital for Children? (3) How many specialist speech clinicians - that is, surgeons trained in cleft palate, lip and mouth surgery - are currently employed at Princess Margaret Hospital for Children? (1) There are 8.9 full-time equivalent speech pathologists in the speech pathology department at Princess Margaret Hospital for Children, with those positions being occupied by 12 people currently. (2) There have been 20 resignations from PMH since 2001, for reasons including moving interstate or overseas, staff accepting new jobs locally and staff resigning following maternity leave. (3) Four. (4) No doctors are presently training in this area as a subspeciality; however, the plastic surgery registrars undertake some basic training in this area as part of their training in plastic surgery. There are two plastic surgery registrars at PMH.
