In this regard the report of the Royal Commission Into Whether There Has Been Corrupt Or Criminal Conduct By Any Western Australian Police Officer made a number of recommendations for change in the Western Australia Police Service. Importantly, it should be noted that one of the recommended changes was to restructure the second tier of the Western Australia Police Service by creating an additional Deputy Commissioner position. This recommendation was accepted by Government. The position of Deputy Commissioner (Standards and Reform) was created and advertised concurrently with the positions of Commissioner of Police and Deputy Commissioner (Operations). (7)-(8) No.
