ESPERANCE FORESHORE — SAND BYPASSING
In the “essence of Esperance” strategic plan and foreshore master plan, the people of Esperance made it quite clear that they do not want hard structures to remedy foreshore erosion. (1) Will the government commit to sand bypassing from the Esperance port as a long-term remedy for foreshore erosion? (2) Given that the government’s “Coastal Protection Policy for Western Australia” section on “Sand Bypassing of Maritime Developments” states that those who change the natural supply of sand shall compensate for the change, if the government will not commit to sand bypassing, why not?
