DIANE EVERS to the minister representing the Minister for Water:
I refer to the proposed rezoning of
lot 5780 Down Road South for the proposed Albany motorplex and the concerns of
residents that it is within a priority 2 drinking water area.
(1) Was the
Department of Water and Environmental Regulation consulted given the proposal
is situated within a priority 2 drinking water source?
(2) If yes, will
the minister please table the correspondence and advice from the department and
the minister regarding the proposal; and, if no, why not?
(3) If no to (1),
will the minister undertake to review the impacts of the proposal on the
priority 2 drinking source and provide advice to the community and the council;
and, if not, why not?

authority for this proposal and has an advisory role only. The Department of
Water and Environmental Regulation's letter of advice to the City of
Albany of 17 December 2020 is provided. I table the attached letter.
