COORDINATOR GENERAL — TIM MARNEY
1153. Hon TJORN SIBMA to the minister representing the
Minister for State and Industry Development, Jobs and Trade:
I
refer to the departure of the interim coordinator general at the Department of
Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation , Mr Tim Marney, from the role.
(1) What was the
scope of Mr Marney's responsibilities and what were the terms of his
contract, including remuneration?
(2) Noting that
Mr Chris Clark will commence as coordinator general in coming weeks, what will
be the scope of his responsibilities, and what will be his employment terms,
including remuneration?

I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1)–(2) The
coordinator general is responsible for coordinating and facilitating approvals
across government for major projects, including projects of state significance.
The coordinator general also works to identify opportunities to progress regulatory reform. Mr Marney was employed from
21 February to 20 August 2024 with renumeration of $298 596 per annum,
excluding superannuation. Mr Clark is commencing from 30 September 2024 with
renumeration of $310 540 per annum, excluding superannuation, in line with his
existing employment conditions in the WA public service.
