(a) As detailed in the 2014-15 Mid-year Review the Departments of Agriculture and Food, the Attorney General, Commerce, Finance, Fisheries, Parks and Wildlife and Training Workforce Development and the Culture and the Arts portfolio are subject to the agency expenditure review process.
(i) As detailed in the 2014-15 Mid-year Review stage one of the agency expenditure review process will be considered in the first half of 2015, with identified savings to be detailed in the 2015-16 Budget Papers. A number of agencies may then also be subject to stage two of the agency expenditure review process throughout the remainder of 2015, with identified savings to be detailed in the 2015‑16 Mid‑year Review.
Agencies are largely responsible, with external oversight, for both stages of the agency expenditure review process. A standardised model of agency and program review, with external oversight mechanisms, will be developed for agencies as part of stage two.
(ii) Both stages of the agency expenditure review are intended to ensure the programs delivered by these agencies remain a priority and are being delivered as efficiently and effectively as possible.
(iii) At this stage, no savings have been written into agencies' current forward estimates.
(iv) See (i) above for response to timing. Consultation with external-to-government stakeholders will occur as required.
