I refer to the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development's (DPIRD) sponsorship of events and I ask: (a) Over the past 3 years, what events (ie. conferences, forums, social events) has DPIRD sponsored or provided funding to; (b) Over the past 3 years, what is the total amount spent by DPIRD on sponsorship of such events; (c) Why did DPIRD not provide funding for the 2025 Regenerative Food Systems Conference hosted by ReGen WA when it has done so in previous years; and (d) Of the events that DPIRD has sponsored in the last 3 years, which have not and will not be receiving sponsorship or funding in 2025?

(b) Total amount from 1 January 2023 to 14 October 2025 is $2,247,440 (excluding GST).
(c) The Regenerative Food Systems Conference in 2025 received $25,000 from an account held by the WA Local Government Association (WALGA) on behalf of the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD), Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage (DPLH) and WALGA.
(d) To initiate consideration for sponsorship funding an organisation must lodge an application with DPIRD. Applications are assessed against criteria at the time of receipt and not in reference to previous year funding.
