FIREARMS ACT —
REVIEW
537. Hon AARON STONEHOUSE to the minister representing the
Minister for Police:
I refer the minister to my question without notice 937 of 11
October 2018 regarding the Law Reform Commission of Western Australia's
''Review of the Firearms Act 1973 (WA)''. Noting that the
resultant recommendations have now been on the minister's desk for two
full years since the McGowan government came to office, can the minister tell
me when we can expect to see a government response, and what form any such
response might take?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of this
question.
The Western Australia Police Force and stakeholders have been
considering the Law Reform Commission's recommendations. The Western Australia
Police Force is working on a submission. A bill will be introduced to amend the
act.
