I refer to the practice of public health patients undertaking surgery in private hospitals, and I ask, for each quarter since January 2012: (a) how many patients has the Department of Health paid to have surgery undertaken in a private hospital; (b) what were these procedures; and (c) what was the additional cost per operation to the Department of Health of having a public patient have surgery in a private hospital?

(a) 27 surgical procedures for public patients were completed in a private hospital this quarter.
(b) The following table outlines the breakdown of procedures completed at private hospitals during this period:
