(2) Of the licences in (1) —
(a) has any application been received for transfer of the licence within the last 12 months; and
(b) is the Minister, or his Department, aware of any impending application for transfer of licence?
(3) If yes to (2)(a) and/or (b), in how many cases is the recipient, or would-be recipient, of the transferred licence a mining company?
(4) Of these in (3), what nature and quantity of fishing is authorised by the licence (including any conditions imposed on the licence)?

(1)  There are six state managed commercial fisheries that operate in the waters of the  Northern Carnarvon Basin petroleum acreage release area. The number of commercial  fishing licences in each fishery is as follows:
(i) Mackerel Managed Fishery (Area 2) - 16 Managed Fishing Licences,
(ii) Marine Aquarium Fish Managed Fishery - 12 Managed Fishing Licences,
(iii) Onslow Prawn Managed Fishery - 30 Managed Fishing Licences,
(iv) Pilbara Line Fishery - 9 Fishing Boat Licences,
(v) Pilbara Trap Managed Fishery - 6 Managed Fishing Licences, and
(vi) Specimen Shell Managed Fishery - 32 Managed Fishing Licences.
(2)
(a)  Yes - in the 12 months to 29 May 2012, the Department of Fisheries received  applications for the transfer of:
(i) One Marine Aquarium Fish Managed Fishery Licence,
(ii) One Onslow Prawn Managed Fishery Licence,
(ii) One Pilbara Line Fishery Fishing Boat Licence, and
(iv) Four Specimen Shell Managed Fishery Licences.
(b) The Department of Fisheries is not aware of any impending applications for the  transfer of licences in the above listed fisheries.
(3)  The Department of Fisheries does not have any information which would indicate  whether any of the recipients of the transferred licences listed above are associated  with mining companies.
(4)  Not applicable.
