I refer to the development of the South West Regional Blueprint, and I ask: (a) what organisations and individuals are being consulted to inform the Blueprint; (b) what is the purpose of the Blueprint and will it override Department of Planning and Local Government planning strategies and plans; (c) will the public have the opportunity to comment on a draft Blueprint before it is finalised; (d) when is the Blueprint expected to be completed; and (e) will the Blueprint be publicly released?

(a) The South West Development Commission has consulted 31 Government Agencies, 12 local governments and 22 not-for-profit human services organisations in the preparation of the Blueprint. No data is currently available regarding the extent of consultation by Regional Development Australia South West within the Commonwealth Government.
(b) The purpose of the Blueprint is to set a strategic direction for economic growth. The document will not override Department of Planning and local government strategies and plans.
(c) A process for public comment is under consideration.
