On
behalf of the Minister for Road Safety, I thank the honourable member for some
notice of the question.
Funds
from the road trauma trust account are allocated each year during the annual
budget process.
(1)
(a) Current forecast expenditure in 2016–17 is $157 million.
(b)
The 2017–18 budget process has not been completed yet.
(c)
The 2018–19 budget process has not been completed yet.
As
some projects are funded on an ongoing basis and although the budget has not
been completed for 2017–18 and 2018–19, these ongoing projects
are reflected in the expense limit for the budget out years.
(2) The total approved expense limit allocated is:
$157 million in 2016–17; $43 million in 2017–18; and $32 million
in 2018–19.
