theMinister for Health:I have a
supplementary question. From that answer, I take it that the minister has not
been briefed. Given the pressure that nurses are under and the record level of
ambulance ramping at our regional hospitals, will the minister ensure that this
decision is reversed?

Ms Meredith Hammat replied:The staffing of
hospitals is entirely an operational matter. As the member would expect, health
services are making those decisions every day and dealing with the
circumstances that they are confronting in their communities and hospitals.
That is entirely a decision that we would expect them to make to ensure that
they have appropriate staffing.
