(1) The Government strongly supports the protection of employee entitlements in the event of employer insolvency and is committed to ensuring that employees who find themselves in these situations are treated fairly. The Government has received some preliminary advice but is awaiting more comprehensive advice from the Department of Productivity and Labour Relations which is considering a number of options to address the issue.
