LIVESTOCK COMPLIANCE UNIT
256. Hon RICK MAZZA to the Attorney General
representing the Minister for Police:
I refer to the memorandum of
understanding between WA Police and the Department of Agriculture and Food that
allocates funding for livestock compliance unit inspectors to assist Western
Australia Police with livestock crime investigations and maintain a presence at
points of livestock aggregation in WA to deter stock theft and encourage
industry compliance with stock identification and movement legislation.
(1) How many
investigations have been referred to WA Police by the livestock compliance unit
for each of the years 2011 to 2014?
(2) How many
investigations of livestock theft are as a consequence of primary producers
making direct contact with WA Police for each of the years 2011 to 2014?
