EDUCATION AND TRAINING - BUDGET ALLOCATION
I refer the minister to the income statement for education and training in the new budget, which shows that employee costs for 2005-06 are only $1.7 million, or 0.1 per cent, higher than the previous financial year. I further refer the minister to the cash flow statement that shows that employee costs in 2005-06 are expected to be lower than those for 2004-05. Will the minister explain how employee costs in her portfolio have been kept to such a low increase on an accrual basis, and have been cut on a cash basis? Hon LJILJANNA RAVLICH

Once again, I thank the honourable member for this question. In relation to the income statement showing that $1.7 million more was spent in relation to the specific cash flow statements, I make the point that I do not have the budget papers with me. Hon Norman Moore : This is a very significant question that you should know about. Hon LJILJANNA RAVLICH : I will give the member a very significant answer. I am happy to give the appropriate answer at the appropriate time, and that is during the estimates hearing. However, if the member chooses not to go down that path and wants the answer before the estimates hearing, he might do me the courtesy of placing the question on notice.
