I refer to Labor’s 2015 Policy Platform and your commitment to re-establish a Multicultural Commission and ask: (a) what work has been undertaken on this project; (b) have you consulted with the Office of Multicultural Interests; (c) what is the proposed model of Commission the Minister intends to establish; (d) what are the anticipated costs of implementing this policy; and (e) how can the Minister stand by this commitment, when it flies in the face of the Government’s cost-saving measures to reduce the number of government departments?
