SUSTAINABLE ENERGY DEVELOPMENT OFFICE — EFFICIENCY DIVIDEND
(1) What impact will the government’s demand for a three per cent spending cut across the public service have on the Sustainable Energy Development Office? (2) Will the minister guarantee that the solar water heater subsidy will continue to be accessible by Western Australian households at current or greater levels? Hon PETER COLLIER

I thank the honourable member for the question. (1)-(2) We are talking about an issue that, quite frankly, I cannot give an extensive response to. At this stage, all departments have been asked to make a three per cent efficiency dividend cut in their departments. Until each department assesses the issues relating to their department and how much can be saved within that department, I cannot give a considered response. I can assure the member that I will be following this issue fastidiously with the departments under my jurisdiction. I can also assure the member that the cuts certainly will not impact at all on energy reliability and sustainability. That is all I can say until I get some more measured or definitive responses from my departments. Hon Kate Doust : What about the second part of the question?
