I thank the honourable member for some notice of this
question. The following information has been provided to me by the Minister for
Health.
(1) The terms
of reference of the report are to provide recommendations on the optimum
service model and service demand for patients with quadriplegia within WA,
inclusive of the ventilator-dependent quadriplegic community care program,
which considers a whole-of-life approach for all ages and transition from acute
care to rehabilitation to supported community living; key performance indicators
for performance reporting and management purposes; governance and management
arrangements; and facility-based options that support the recommended service
model beyond just the redevelopment of the Quadriplegic Centre on its current
site.
(2) The completion
of the review and final report are expected to be provided to the North
Metropolitan Health Service by late August 2015.
(3) At this
point the report is for internal planning purposes. The findings will be used
to develop a business case that will form part of the 2016–17 budget
process.
