I refer to examination requirements to become a registered builder. (1) In categories under which a registration application may be made, it states that oral assessments for examinations are not permitted and that the subjects required must be taken through a technical and further education course. If a person intending to register as a builder is dyslexic, can he take an oral examination for this particular TAFE course? (2) Can prior learning be taken into account and assessments made on a person’s verbal knowledge? (3) If not, is it discrimination if a person meets all other relevant requirements? Hon LJILJANNA RAVLICH

The board will consider any information that is provided to it to assess an applicant for registration, including recognition of prior learning. (3) Not applicable.
