OFFENDERS —
GPS TRACKING
730. Hon STEPHEN DAWSON to the
Attorney General:
I refer to question on notice 1073 about GPS technology.
(1) How many breaches for violence restraining orders were
recorded in the following periods —
(a) July 2013 to date;
(b) 2012–13; and
(c) 2011–12?
(2) In line
with the Liberal Party of Western Australia policy paper ''Dealing with
Serious Violent Offenders'', when will the government legislate for the
supervision and GPS tracking of domestic violence offenders and serial
arsonists?
(3) How many
dangerous sexual offenders subject to GPS tracking in 2012–13 and 2013–14
breached parole conditions?
(4) Can the
minister confirm an additional $8 million has been allocated in the 2014–15
state budget to fund the expansion of GPS tracking to apply to domestic
violence offenders; and, if so, what is the breakdown over the forward
estimates?
The PRESIDENT : Part of that question related to a
political party matter rather than a government agency matter.
