WATER CORPORATION —
SERVICE CHARGES
238. Ms M.J. DAVIES to the Treasurer:
I refer to the service charge Water
Corporation applies to commercial customers based on the number of major
sewerage fixtures, such as toilets or urinals, on a property. Has the Treasurer
asked the Water Corporation to model alternative service charges to provide
relief for businesses such as caravan parks, hotels, motels, restaurants and
cafes with multiple sewerage fixtures and little to no occupancy rates or
income as a result of COVID-19; and, if not, will the Treasurer immediately
request this modelling and direct the Water Corporation to waive those service
charges for the duration of the COVID-19 state of emergency?

Leader of the National Party, I am
aware of those charges and I am aware that the Minister for Water has done, and
is doing, that exact work.
