I refer to the answer to question without notice 576 of Tuesday, 17 August 2004. (1) Will the minister reactivate the now expired notice of intention to take land to grant estates, interests and rights under written law in the terms of the previous notice? (2) If not, will the minister ensure that the interests in the land of The Kimberley Connection Pty Ltd is protected and that the company is included as part of any negotiations in respect of the land required for access purposes and such additional land as required for an airstrip and for resort purposes? I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1) No. (2) The Kimberley Connection Pty Ltd’s interests have been referred to the Office of Native Title, which is responsible for the broad package being developed to facilitate a mediated settlement of the Rubibi native title claim.
