QuestionView source ↗

(1) Is the minister aware that the City of Stirling may offer a new contract to the Atlas Group without going through the tender process, despite Atlas having the lowest recycling level in Australia? (2) Is it usual practice for local government to sidestep the tender process? (3) Does the minister support the City of Stirling awarding a new contract to Atlas without going through the tender process? Hon TOM STEPHENS

AnswerView source ↗

(1) The City of Stirling advises that it has advertised for tenders for the recycling of domestic waste.  Tenders have closed and are being evaluated for submission to council. (2)-(3) Not applicable. A note on the bottom of the answer indicates that the City of Stirling has now advised that one tender was received, which was from the Atlas Group.  The Atlas Group tender was subsequently accepted by the city.   It looks as though this answer has been drafted in two phases - one historic and one contemporary.
