I ask this question on behalf of Hon Ken Travers , who is away on urgent parliamentary business.
(1) How was
the number of passengers using late-night trains at 2.15 am on Friday and
Saturday nights in 2014 determined?
(2) How was
the number of passengers using late-night trains at 1.15 am on Friday and
Saturday nights in 2014 determined?
(3) Does the
Public Transport Authority know the average number of passengers who used a
SmartRider on 1.15 am late-night trains leaving Perth stations in 2014?
(4) If yes to (3), will the Minister for Transport table it?

Public Transport Authority staff conduct a physical count to record the number
of passengers boarding the weekend late-night train services at Perth stations
prior to the train's departure.
(3) The
average number of passengers who used a SmartRider on the 1.00 am and 1.15 am
trains leaving Perth stations on a Saturday morning in 2014 is 48. The average
number of passengers who used a SmartRider on the 1.00 am and 1.15 am trains
leaving Perth stations on a Sunday morning is 47.
(4) Not applicable.
