I thank the member
for some notice of the question. The following answer has been provided to me
by the Minister for Emergency Services.
Residents submit an
application for the Premier's relief payment through SmartyGrants. The state
recovery grants team then assesses their eligibility for either the $4,000 or
$2,000 payment. As at 9 June 2026, 365 applications had been
received.
(1) To date, 41 applicants were
assessed as eligible to receive the $4,000 payment.
(2) An amount of $164,000 has been paid.
(3) To date, 385 applicants were
assessed as eligible to receive the $2,000 payment.
(4) An amount of $770,000 has been paid.
Applications that
are not approved are either not eligible, withdrawn, identified as potentially
fraudulent or still in progress.
