In regard to emergency services at airports in Western Australia, would the Minister please advise -
(1) What emergency service practices are required by legislation at airports in Western Australia?
(2) Do all airports in Western Australia adhere to these emergency service practices?
(a) If not, why not?
(3) What type of emergency vehicle is in use at both the domestic and international airports in Western Australia?
(4) How many of these emergency vehicles are provided to both the domestic and international airports in Western Australia?
(5) What appliances, apart from fire trucks, are used at both the domestic and international airports in Western Australia?
(6) Do any of the airports in Western Australia rely on other emergency services as a back-up to their own emergency services based at the airports?
(a) If so, what are the names of these airports and which back-up services are provided?

(2) The aerodrome emergency procedures are a matter of Commonwealth jurisdiction and should be answered by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority. Nevertheless the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations 1998 require that where an aerodrome is certified an aerodrome emergency committee must be established and the committee must prepare an aerodrome emergency plan. Aviation Rescue and Fire Fighting Services provide rescue and fire fighting services in Western Australian aerodromes pursuant to the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations 1998. Within Western Australia, Aviation Rescue and Fire Fighting Services are located at Perth Airport only. The Broome Airport provides its own primary emergency service response. (2)(a) Refer to previous answer. (3)-(5) This information is held by the Federal Government Department of Transport and Regional Services and Civil Aviation Safety Authority. (6) Yes. (6)(a) State Government and Local Government emergency services provide back up and response to Perth and Broome Aerodromes.
